#781 Qinling Golden Snub-Nosed Monkey
A Qinling golden snub-nosed monkey sits to keep warm in the China’s Qinlng Mountains. “If mother is not around to cuddle up to, then sitting like this is the best way to keep warm in the extreme winter cold,” says Cyril Ruoso, the photographer. This species is endangered, with the total population at about 8,000 to 20,000. This photo won Runner-Up in 2011 for the Veolia Environment Wildlife Photographer of the Year’s Gerald Durrell Award for Endangered Species.
