#716 Newborn Gorilla Holds On
A newborn gorilla holds on to its mom’s arm. This baby gorilla is one of the first of two baby gorillas born in 23 years at the North Carolina Zoo. These two births move the Gorilla Species Survival Plan (SSP), a group responsible for the long-term sustainabilyt of the western lowland gorilla population in North American zoos, to its target population goal of 360 gorillas in 52 zoos.
